Keith Gour ( shown on right ) is the founder of Aylmer Karate-Do, Self Defense and Fitness. He teaches martial arts classes in his community of Aylmer, Gatineau as well as women’s self defense classes at a local women’s shelter and in lower town Ottawa. He volunteers teaching in his community so that everyone can participate regardless of their financial or social status.


- achieved Shodan, first degree black belt in 1988

- 1990 - 2000 head instructor of Gloucester South Karate and Karate instructor for City of Gloucester

- achieved Nidan, second degree black belt in 1996

- 1997 member of the Ottawa JKA and Canada JKA under Saeki Sensei

- September 2017 founded Aylmer Karate-Do Self Defense and Fitness

- achieved Sandan, third degree black belt in May 2019 under Renshi Pascal Monette who is a student of Hanshi Gilles Lavigne

- 2018 nominated for sports volunteer of the year City of Gatineau

- 2019 nominated for sports volunteer of the year City of Gatineau

- achieved Yondan, fourth degree black belt in December 2022 under Hanshi Gilles Lavigne ( shown on left )

- May 2024 certified in CPR + First Aid

- is currently a member of the Canadian Martial Arts Association, founder Hanshi Gilles Lavigne

- also studies Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido, North American Kickboxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Bo.
